ABS-CBN won six awards for excellence in the 2007 Gold Quill Awards held at Mandarin Oriental in Makati City.
The awards recived were: excellence in the multi-audience for “Boto Mo, I-Patrol Mo”; a merit award for Boto Mo, I-Patrol Mo; an award of excellence in the special events category for the Pinoy Media Congress; a merit award in the publications category for “Kapitan” book on ABS-CBN’s late chairman Geny Lopez; a merit award in the employee PR category for Kapamilya Services; and a merit award in merchandising for the ABS-CBN planner.
Gold Quill Awards is the highest distinction given to excellent business communication programs in the country. This is held annually by the International Association of Business Communicators.
A deadly blast shook the Batasan Pambasa complex in Quezon City at 8:15 in the evening on Tuesday.
The explosion took place on the south wing entrance of the House of Representatives building that killed 3 persons. They are Marcial Taldo, driver of Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan who died on the spot, Maan Gale Abustanillo, staff member of Negros Oriental Rep. Pryde Henry Teves who died while being treated in the hospital and Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar who sustained fractured forehead, jaw and lower leg. Rep. Akbar died at 10:20 p.m. at FEU-NRMF Medical Center in Fairview, Quezon City.
Other blast victims were Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan, Negros Oriental Rep. Pryde Henry Teves, Ismael Lim, driver of Gabriela Rep. Liza Maza; Timar Kindanan, bodyguard of Akbar; Percy Garcia, a staff member of Teves; Dennis Manila, an aide of Teves; Larry Noda, a House administrative assistant; Rodolfo Relente; Frederick del Castillo; Nikki Ayadoni; and Allan Mangulabnan.
Meanwhile, despite of the chaos caused by the explosion, Speaker Jose De Venecia said that the House will resume its session on Wednesday.
Actress Cristine Reyes filed a case against former Miss Philippines Earth and a former Bb. Pilipinas World Carlene Aguilar.
According to Cristine’s attorney, Carlene confronted and uttered words against his client (Cristine) which made them file the case of grave slander and oral defamation against the former beauty queen.

Young actress Maja Salvador experienced her first reel and real kissing scene as she portrays the role in the movie One More Chance with Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz.
It was John Lloyd Cruz who was able to let Maja experience her first kissing scence on reel and real life.
According to her, she’s comfortable with John Lloyd though she admit that she’s nervous while doing the scene. She even got her period after her kissing scene with John Lloyd.
